I recently received a Dui in Illinois - Do i get an attorney from my home state of Kansas or one from Illinois?
- It is up to the court to decide, but it is wise to get a lawyer in the state the DUI happend in becuase they know the judges and the loop holes so they can get you farther than an out of state lawyer can
- I live in Va and if a person was arrested in Va and from a different state that person would have to hire an attorney from Va unless they have an attorney in thier home state that can practice law in Va. I think that goes for all states to include DC. Hope this helps

- That would depend on if your lawyer was accepted to the bar in Illinois. If not, you would have to have an Illinois lawyer
