Missed DUI Court Date, Warrant Issued - Illinois?
My husband was given a DUI on Jan 14th, as well as several other moving violations. He went to his first court date and was given a continuance bc we did not yet have an attorney. He was supposed to go back on March 24th. Well He told me he went and got another continuance, bc still no lawyer, Turns out he lied to me about that. So because he didn't show for the 2nd court date, a warrant was issued for his arrest. He now has court on April 30th. We do not have any money for a lawyer, and I'm afraid if he shows up he will be thrown in jail. What will happen, does anyone know? Any advice? He rec'd Moving violations for improper lane change and failing to use a turn signal- Tell you husband to take responsibility for is ignorant actions and call the court to get a court appointed lawyer. If he gets pulled over he will go to jail as well. He needs to do something instead of pretending it doesn't exist. I am guessing he is gonna be in some trouble though

- He needs to call the court and settle the Failure to appear. Hiding from this will not work; amd come Wed, he's either going to have it worked out or go to jail anyway. Call legal aid in the phone book

Third conviction Aggravated DUI ? Cl 2 felony with possible 3 - 7 years imprisonment; mandatory minimum 10 days in jail or 480 hours community service; fines of up to $25, 000; loss of driving privileges for minimum 10 years. Within five years of previous conviction: Mandatory minimum 10 days in jail or 480 hours community service terms of imprisonment or community service not subject to suspension / reduction nor is offender eligible for probation ; eligible for RDP after one year of revocation; required to have a BAIID installed in vehicle as part of driving relief. Fourth conviction Aggravated DUI ? Cl 2 felony with possible 3 - 7 years imprisonment; fines of up to $25, 000; lifetime loss of driving privileges; not eligible for any type of driving relief. Fifth conviction Aggravated DUI ? Cl 1 felony with possible 4 - 15 years imprisonment; fines of up to $25, 000; lifetime revocation of driving privileges; not eligible for any type of driving relief. Sixth or subsequent conviction Aggravated DUI ? i paid 10k to my lawyer he says no jail time as long as i attend aa for a while once we beat the case i can drink again but not drive he knows every trick in the book you people said i was going to jail were wrong! lol (illinois dui attorney)
